It was very impressive, and people seemed very serene as they toured the shrine. There was a tomb inside the church with 4 unknown soldiers in it.
Gail, Ron and myself in front of church. It was a great tour of restored American history.
Our next stop was the Riverwalk across the street. It too was very impressive .There were waterfalls everywhere and walls of water with a jungle of flowers for accent.
This the view of Alamo from the steps down to the beginning of Riverwalk.
another view of the waterfalls
This level was mostly eating establishments.Every kind of food you can think of -we had english style fish and chips in a British Pub.We were stuffed from the 3 pieces of battered cod and fries.
There was a boat trip around the walk but we didnt have enough time.
Gail and I browsing and gabbing on the sidewalk.Hibiscus and other flowers were in bloom all down the street.I can only imagine how pretty it is in the SUMMER.
The morning started out cloudy and spitting rain but while we had lunch the sun came out and it quickly got up to 80 and humid.I guess thats why all the chairs were outside along the river.
a walk way over to the other side
Mother and baby duckling just hangin' out on theside of river.
another view ofwalkway. we didnt get even close to walking the whole thing but it was great what we saw and had a delicous lunch.Headed off to costco on way home and did lots more walking there. It took us about 1 1/2 hrs to get there and about 2 hrs coming back the scenic route through Bandera. So all in all it was a great but tiring day.We all had fun!Thats it for today. The wind has come up again here tonight and temp has dropped to 64*very quickly. Bye for now -hope everyone had a terrific day Ron & Dee
