Hi everybody, well what a gorgeous day this was in Concan Texas. It got up to over 70 deg. and sunny all day.I actually got a sunburn!!Everyone here was happy to see the rainy weather disapear for a change. Although it hasn,t rained a lot the drought is over here after lasting for almost 2 yrs. The live oak trees are all still out in leaf. It sure didn't look like that last year.Mike and Kathy arrived safely today as well as Mary and Tom. We were glad to see them and they picked a good day--potluck for supper. As usual it was delicious with all the southern dishes and desserts.I did baked beans that went over really great. It was nice to visit with all the folks we met from last year.Well bye for now--2010 is almost here!! time flies when your having fun....take care Dee and Ron

Howdy everybody, Have you had a great day?We arrived at Parkview Riverside this morning at about 11:00. It rained and snowed and sleeted most of the way from Fredrick'sburg. It was 41 degrees so it didn't last on the ground too long and the roads were fine.Still better than 2" of snow at a time.Gale is here already with her new dog Sissy, and Tom and Mary are expected tomorrow. There are quite a few golfers from Canada here enjoying this great weather. Our site is different with lots of sun if and when it comes out. lol. Take care and have a great night.Gale and i are going puzzling tonight already-she said its a really hard one and Ron can nurse his cold with a good long nap!! Bye for now Dee and Ron

Hi everybody, We arrived in Onalaska Texas today about 3:00. The weather was terrific-nice and sunny all the way through La . and the piney woods of east Texas.High of 57deg. Onalaska is on the top of Lake Livingston and very picturesque. I bet it is so busy in the summer on both sides of the causeway.Tomorrow we head off to somewhere near Austin-haven't got that figured out yet.Thinking of you all!take care ron and Dee

Dec 26
Merry Christmas to all our family and friends. Hope you had a wonderful day celebrating. Our day was a little different- Ron noticed a flat tire on the trailer so we had to get that changed right away--it was a small stone embedded in the tire. Glad we weren't on the road at the time. After that we took a walk down the Mississippi river .It is up 12 FEET today with all the rain in the last few days! I had put some pork ribs in the crockpot to cook all day and that was delicious.
Getting here was a bit tricky as we were in a torrential downpour for at least 40 miles coming down the Natchez Trace on Dec. 24. What a storm that was!! We did pull over at one time to let all the traffic behind us pass. One good thing with all that rain --some of the dirt that we have picked up all over the trailer got washed OFF.What a mess it is.
Ron has caught a cold somewhere and so were doctoring it up with Tylenol and cough syrup. It seems to be working already.
Tomorrow were on the road again heading for Onalaska Texas, We will make it through Louisiana in 1 day.We could be off line for a couple of days again. So everyone take care and we'll talk again soon. Ron and Dee
