It got up to over 70 deg. and sunny all day.I actually got a sunburn!!Everyone here was happy to see the rainy weather disapear for a change. Although it hasn,t rained a lot the drought is over here after lasting for almost 2 yrs. The live oak trees are all still out in leaf. It sure didn't look like that last year.Mike and Kathy arrived safely today as well as Mary and Tom. We were glad to see them and they picked a good day--potluck for supper. As usual it was delicious with all the southern dishes and desserts.I did baked beans that went over really great. It was nice to visit with all the folks we met from last year.Well bye for now--2010 is almost here!! time flies when your having fun....take care Dee and Ron

Onalaska is on the top of Lake Livingston and very picturesque. Dec 26

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends. Hope you had a wonderful day celebrating. Our day was a little different- Ron noticed a flat tire on the trailer so we had to get that changed right away--it was a small stone embedded in the tire. Glad we weren't on the road at the time. After that we took a walk down the Mississippi river .It is up 12 FEET today with all the rain in the last few days! I had put some pork ribs in the crockpot to cook all day and that was delicious.
Getting here was a bit tricky as we were in a torrential downpour for at least 40 miles coming down the Natchez Trace on Dec. 24. What a storm that was!! We did pull over at one time to let all the traffic behind us pass. One good thing with all that rain --some of the dirt that we have picked up all over the trailer got washed OFF.What a mess it is.
Ron has caught a cold somewhere and so were doctoring it up with Tylenol and cough syrup. It seems to be working already.
Tomorrow were on the road again heading for Onalaska Texas, We will make it through Louisiana in 1 day.We could be off line for a couple of days again. So everyone take care and we'll talk again soon. Ron and Dee

Wed March 25

Hi everybody,We have arrived in Shepardsville Kentucky today. At 9:00 this morning looking at the rain and, there had been no storms all night, Ron thought we could make it to here if we got busy and started packing. It turned out fine but had rain the entire way here. They had a big ice storm back in Jan all down the I-65 corridor and surrounding area of Kentucky--there are branches down everywhere. It looks awful!
So we will head for home tomorrow morning possibly going right through . Once we get to Auburn , Indiana -its only 4 hrs-so who knows
Hope ya'll have a great night and will see you soon. Ron and Dee

Tues March 24

Hi everybody, well were at the park and we were making some headway for home but a bad storm is brewing in this area .We decided rather than take a chance we can sit it out and so will stay here until Thurs or Fri at least , rather than tomorrow. If it still looks not so great we can stay for another day.The winds are suppose to reach upwards of 50mph--not good towing a trailer.
We have been using the library internet and it works great!
Well that s all for today and we will keep you posted as we go.Take care all,Ron and Dee
