wed.Jan 13

Hi everybody, It's a rainy day in Texas today. It started last night and hasn't quit yet. They sure do need it here. Today We headed into Uvalde to get an oil change on the truck. We had tried in Leakey but they had never heard of synthetic oil so off we went to the Oil & Lube and had no problem. Good day to do it anyway. Our potluck was delicious again as usual tonight and Greg's pear-pecan upside down spice cake was a tremendous hit.It was eaten while still warm and all gone in 10 min.Everyone wanted his recipe! We want to wish Scott a happy birthday tomorrow-hope you have a great day...Well bye for now and take care all...Dee & Ron

Tues Jan 12

Hi everybody Here are a few pictures Ron took today down at the river. A white heron looking for dinner . It has been an overcast day with a bit of sunshine early this morning.
The Frio River is calm as always and crystal clear.

Another sort of bird looking for a free lunch.
Mike and Kathy got away this morning and the weather looks pretty good for the next few days for them. We'll keep our fingers crossed that they make it home safely. The weather has predicted rain here by Wed or Thurs and we would be shocked if it actually happened.Well bye for now -Take care Ron and Dee

Sunday Jan 10

Hi everybody,Well its starting to warm up a bit here. got to 46 today. yahoo!Yesterday we went to Campwood for lunch with Mike and Kathy. Had a great day .After a bit of shopping we headed off to Eagle Pass to check out the casino.Oh boy is it ever flat and desolate heading southwest from here.Of course we didn't win anything so off we went back home. On the way we had to go through the border patrol checkpoint. Kathy was the only one who happened to have her passport (who knew we needed it when Mexico was not on our list)and the officer gave us a hard time for not having ours. They accecpted that we had them back at the trailer.
I did a good long walk today after doing 3 loads of laundry. everyone seems to be getting cabin fever here. We also got to meet Gale's daughter and son in law who are visiting from Montana .Hopefully the weather breaks soon.well thats about it for today ,hope y'all have a great night .Dee and Ron

Nobody is happy here thats for sure.

tues Jan 5 2010

Hi everybody,Here we are on our walk today. It was cool as you can tell by my mitts and hood. Lots of pipes froze here last night and colder weather is expected again for the next couple of nights. It was sunny so that was a bonus.Ron spotted this roadrunner off in the distance- very tricky
to get a good picture of them!

This was a lonesome rooster walking around Bandera yesterday. There weren't many shoppers either. It seems this cool weather has slowed down everything and shoppers included. We went with Mike and Kathy and had a fun time . Did Mexican for late lunch. Very tasty!
The river has been stocked again and the fish are biting.Ron has his rod ready!Bye for now take care Dee and Ron
